Compassion, respect, caring ….. Does your organisation have a list of words describing its values to guide its strategy and operations? Do you know your employer’s values off the top of your head? And are they meaningful to staff – and demonstrated by senior management?
Are the values reflected in your residential care meal service?
Next time you have a catering meeting, reflect on one of the values. How does that look for your meal service? How do you live out that value with presentation and service of the food, in interaction with staff, residents, visitors, suppliers? Work through each of the values, one per meeting.
Turn values into meaningful outcomes that leaders demonstrate and staff live and breath each day. Do this and you will naturally meet the new standards effective from 1 July.
